Come Play this Summer in Ogden Valley
The Valley Home is a great place to have a Family Reunions or Gatherings during the summer months. No matter what season it is, the Ogden Valley is always beautiful and full of fun activities. Downtown Salt Lake City is only 45 minutes away. Huntsville is close enough to Salt Lake City to offer convenience, while just far enough to get you out of town for a peaceful holiday. So come and play or relax at The Valley Home.
 With the Pineview Reservoir and Causey Reservoir close by, there is a lot of space for fishing, boating, kayaking, floating and swimming.
 Pineview Lake is the main attraction to Ogden Valley during the summer. During the spring months, when the valley is verdant and the mountains still snow-covered, you can actually water ski and snow ski in the same day. Launch your boat at the mini-marina 2 minutes away from the condo. Walk down to the sandy beach from your doorstep. Some of the best windsurfing & kitesurfing in Utah is found in the afternoons at the Ogden Canyon inlet. Fisherman can find plenty of success in the shallows fishing for trout, crappie, bass, and tiger muskie. Fly fishermen can find great holes on the three main streams that feed into the lake.
 The mountains surrounding the Ogden Valley are full of hiking trails, mountain biking trails, wildlife and bird viewing at their best or just relax on our two acres of private land. A system of both well-developed and rustic trails are all within minutes of The Valley Home for mountain biking and hiking. Hike or bike to the summit of Mt. Ben Lomond and soak up panoramic views of the Great Salt Lake. Snowbasin is open in the summer. With a gondola / shuttle bike day pass, you can access lower trails with shuttle service back to the Base, or hop on the gondola and ride from the top of Needles.
 The Monte Cristo area in mid-late June or later depending upon the snow pack is nice. The Monte Cristo area is east of Huntsville along Hwy 39. The Old Snowbasin Road from Hwy 39 to Snowbasin Ski Resort and along the way there are some trails in the National Forest that offer several opportunities mid May through June.
 There is an abundance of wildlife in the mountains surrounding Ogden Valley. North Fork Park - Ben Lomond Peak has bighorn sheep, moose & deer. Monte Cristo and South Fork - US Hwy 39 are full of deer, moose, bald eagles and a lot of other little critters.
 Summer also brings small-town events and festivals to the valley. Take a ride in a hot-air balloon as part of the famous Ogden Valley Balloon Festival held each August. Experience a step back in time with the small-town 4th of July festivities at Huntsville park. You can even watch the firework show from directly from the beach. Huntsville also hosts several races each year, including traditional and off-road triathlons, XTERRA and the Ogden Marathon.
 Take a horseback excursion from the Red Rock Ranch just minutes from the Valley Home.
For a cultural experience, go buy some famous honey from the quaint Ogden Valley Trappist Monastery and listen to the daily chants; or take a tour of the historic David O. McKay home. Renowned local artists display their Western artwork at the Huntsville Library gallery or in their own studios by appointment.
Snowbasin host Sunday afternoon FREE Music Concerts. Wolf Creek Utah Ski Resort host the “Music in the Mountains Concerts Series during the summer.
